Band Boosters
Mission Statement:
Adapted 8/25/1995
We see band and color guard as an important aspect in the development of our community’s youth. It is the goal of this organization, the Fruitland Band Boosters, that we support and promote band and color guard activities within the Fruitland School District #373, the City of Fruitland, Idaho and in the areas that the Fruitland High School Band and Color Guard travel.
Being a support organization, we realize that there will be times and instances where the band director and students will need assistance. We recognize this and will help to the best of our abilities. We are a diverse group of people with many talents. We offer to use these talents in the best interest of students.
We recognize that the band director will make leadership decisions for the band and color guard and we offer our support to both students and teacher alike. We look forward to sharing opinions, ideas and enthusiasm in our close relationship with the band director and students involved in the band and color guard programs.
Boosters!
Parents are invited to get involved in the band boosters. There is a place and level of involvement for each parent. Meetings are generally held monthly on Monday evenings.
The marching season is the time when volunteers are needed the most. We need parents to alter uniforms, help get the band in uniform, and hand out/collect plumes. We need moms and dads to make sure there is water for students, cook for them, be booster officers and travel with them.
Making the travel squad
Each fall the band travels regionally. We always want lots of parents going with us; it is quite a fun time! Parents that want to chaperone are parents that participate locally; they attend to the details of getting the band on the field. Get involved with the Boosters!
The Booster Organization is organized in the following manner:
A Booster Executive Committee exisits which consists of the Booster Club President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Presidents of Fundraising and Food, the Immediate-Past President as well as the Band Directors and Color Guard Advisor.
Contact information for Booster Officers and Booster activities is available online at www.fruitlandband.org.
Elections for officers are held at the May meeting each spring.
